HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY!!!
But are we fools? Some days I feel like one... and today was one of those days. Especially at supper time. DH had to work today 2nd shift, and I wanted to cook a good supper and get it to him. I planned on fried chicken, so I had the chicken thawing, and decided to finish up my dish towels I was embroidering on. So far, so good.....
Well, my darling hubby leaves, and children are home, so I want to make supper. I get things going and have 2 pieces of chicken in my fryer, and remember that I have laundry downstairs that needs folding. I go down to the laundry room to get it, when I see my new washer sitting cock-eyed on the platform that dh has it on. It had spun itself right off the edge and was almost on the ground face first! Not good... not good at all...... so I busy myself with pushing a full washer back onto it's platform, and re-spinning my clothes to be sure they are spun well before putting them into the dryer....
In the meantime, upstairs and in the kitchen, the chicken is turning a nice black color and beginning to have that texture that turns to ash when you touch it type of thing....... the kitchen is full of smoke, and the supper is a close disaster, my new washer was barely saved from a fatal injury, and I have two teenage girls sitting in the living room staring at the idiot box, oblivious to the smoke and fumes engulfing their heads......
Then I picked up my cell phone cause it said I had one missed call, and it was dh, so I called back, and asked why he called my cell.... well..... our house phone was turned off. (Guess I had better pay that pretty soon, eh?)
But...... on the good side.
We were able to scrape the really black ash off the chicken, and threw together a pretty good meal, which I took to dh at his job (and pray he has time to eat it!), told him about the washer wanting to walk away on its own, and he's going to fix it tomorrow. And we will probably be able to get the phone back on tomorrow. I hope. (It's actually kind of peaceful right now! LOL!)
The kitchen is clean, along with the floor behind the stove and fridge (which we moved out cause of grease flying everywhere), I did finally finsh my dish towels, and laundry is complete for today. DS just went to bed after studying his spelling words, and dd is on my desktop computer, and dd#2 is upstarirs working on her schoolwork.
So, even though life may make you feel like a fool sometimes.... always know that the Main Man above will pull you through, and make life a joke FOR you, not play a joke ON you.
God bless, and enjoy your day!
Whenever I explain to anyone how I hurt my knee I feel kind of foolish. Then top it off with the black eye (which is almost gone, thank goodness).
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, because some people were afraid to ask what happened, in case it was a domestic violence thing. LOL
Surgery is Monday. I'll be able to straighten my leg again. Woo Hoo!!!!
