Today we had a few errands to run, and one of them involved the police station. No... no trouble, just had to take care of some paperwork.
As I was doing the paperwork, Abigail and Logan were entertained by the policemen, who showed them how to do fingerprints (and fingerprinted them both). They were allowed to stand where the prisioners do to get their pictures taken, and were told how to weigh "things" and work the computer.
We saw old bullet proof vests, breathalyzer tests, and a myriad of old pictures pertaining to police work....
it was quite an interesting morning to say the least, and when they found out the children were homeschooled, the comment was made, "Well, there's two that will be getting a good education!"
Kind of made me feel good....
I know it does make a person feel good to hear those kind of remarks. We know we are doing the right thing by homeschooling our children, but still we need encouraging words.I do hear them often, as well as the negative remarks. The good ones outweigh the bads ones though.
ReplyDeleteI glad you all had a good time today.

How interesting to be able to see such things as a youngster.
