Time and Scheduling

I have discovered recently (and much in the past) that I am awful at scheduling my time!

I end up not getting my household chores done in a day, and have been lacking in my breadbaking and even in my devotions of a morning.

I think what I am going to try, is to make and print out a schedule of my day in 30 minute increments. I have heard many people use this method and am willing to try. I usually know in advance what my day is going to entail, so I can give enough time to fit every thing in. Like right now, I should be dressed and have a load of wash outside, instead of sitting here contemplating how I am going to get things done in my day! Haha!

Today, I am baking my bread (in the works) and am finishing my laundry. Amelia has an eye appointment today at 2:45p, so I will pick her up at 2p from school. Hopefully, mine and Dennis' glasses will be done today so we can just pick them up while we are there.

And tomorrow, Cole gets neutered (I'll be a basket case...)

And I have to finish my sewing (Abby's Easter dress) and a lot of mending.

Busy life. Good life, but busy life..... at least God has blessed my life with having these many things to do. Complaining needs to be out of the question, and a good time management schedule needs to be the focus of a daily routine.

Does anyone else have any other time management ideas that have worked for them?

These are my thoughts......

  1. Best advice I have to share is you have to just get moving in the morning and keep working away at the things you want to accomplish. I am a list-maker of great proportions :o) What I am not, is a list-followerer :o( But, I have noticed there is a great difference in how my day works out depending on if I've had my morning time with The Lord.

Remember He is to get our first fruits...not the computer :o)

And a good rule to try to implement is that you can spend no more time in leisurely pursuits than you spend in God's Word. Half hour of Bible reading or sermon listening gets you a half hour of computer time :o)

Have you tried a household management binder? I saw on other blogs that many people used them and so recently began one myself. So far, so good :)

How I struggle with this too. I will be praying for you. I have gone as far as writing out my schedule and printing it and still have failed. DH says I plan to much for the day and then get frustrated when I don't get anything done. Sooo my goal now is to NOT schedule to many things for one day and pray by the end of the week my house won't look like a tornado hit, and that all the school work will get done, oh yes and meal, I can't forget about those. heehee

Only God can help me now and it is HE that I rely on.

Many blessing to you on your adventure. Keep in touch.
