25 February 2009

Good morning!

As I sit and have time this AM, I thought of the children at school (where ours attend) and I wanted to do something special for them. They are such happy children... so full of life and love (and boundless energy)!

So, lunchlady/ librarian/ janitor me decides at 3:30am to make enough brownies for "my" kids as a treat for lunch today!

There's yet another batch in the oven.....

There's about 70 brownies (or so) and about 40-50 children. I think it'll be ok. Hope they like 'em!

Here at Hatfield Manor (we're feeling majestic today...) things are looking toward spring with a great longing.... I'm planting gardens (in my head) and deciding if I should go with flowers this year or not! DH has said he's buying me a water barrel for Mother's Day... YIPEE! I'll use that one out front, and I should have 3 more coming  (Probably blue plastic) that I'll use out back for garden watering and such.

This will be such a save on our water bill! I can't wait!

Haven't been sewing as much as I'd like. I need to balance my time a bit better, so I can do more. Who knows if it'll work or not, but I'd sure like to try! I get an idea on what I'd like to sew, and that occupoes me until it gets finished. I'd like to get on a spree of "cutting out" a bunch of fabric and then have all the projects on hand to get busy with as I can. But knowing me, the children would grow out of whatever I had planned before I could get it sewn! LOL!

Poor Logan has a pattern in there and fabric, for a pair of pants I've been wanting to make since the beginning of the school year.... Haha! I may get him measured one of these days before he grows out of them!

We're waiting patiently (yea, right) for the kids to come home for a week in March. Amanda, Steve and 2 of the most beautiful grandchildren God put on the earth are coming somewhere mid March... gotta get lots of stuff ready for their arrival! Steve is a "snacker", so we're trying to load him up on his snack foods he likes so well....

AS much as I would like to sit here and talk your ears off, I have so much to accomplish today before volunteer time comes... so I had best get movin'!

What plans are you making for spring time arrival?

Getting anxious for gardening to start?

Have family coming home?

Crafting anything?

Drop a line and let me know what YOU'VE been up to!
