Here we are, back home again.
We arrived about 11:30 this AM, after the longest time of driving EVER!!!
Walked in the door, and what did we find?
- Our 3 dogs that were left in the care of my 22 year old step daughter, without food, without water, dog poo EVERYWHERE in the kitchen where we had them.
- my African Grey parrot with no food and no water, and now won't come out of his cage.
- my Cockatiel without food or water...
- tomato plants torn down outside
- bathroom window had stopped a break in, (however the front door was unlocked when we got here)
- the side of the air conditioner (that holds a window AC unit in) was torn from the wall, and the side door unlocked too....
Can we say... I'm a little peeved off?
The neighbor came over and told us that a couple of times while we were gone, a certain car or truck stopped over (both hers- the way he described them), but not the way she said she would. She promised us that she would be here every morning and every evening to tend to the animals.
I won't go and leave my home again. Not in her hands anyway. I am very angry. DH told me not to say anything to her, but I think she needs to know how I feel and what she has done!
What do you think?
Oh my goodness! That's just awful and I'm mad for you! As for what to do ~ well, that is a pickle if he said to keep quiet. On the one hand, I do think she should be made aware of how irresponsible she was. But if it's your step-dd and his dd (I'm just assuming, I don't know) I would think it would need to come from him. Even if he didn't say anything, I would think an email could get the point across as well.
ReplyDeleteWhy in the world was the section next to the air conditioner ripped out??
I once left my cats in someone's care and that person closed the door to the place where the litterbox was - so I had a mess when I got home. Not to mention two very confused cats!
