PETS!!!

We have a few animals around here... they kind of finish up making our house a home....
Let me introduce a few to you....  :)
This is Riley. He's an 8 year old Great Dane. For a long while, I had a thing for Great Danes. I searched the internet high and low. Hubby and I even went to a Great Dane Rescue, where we were turned down because we apparently didn't take our previous dog to the vet more than we went to the doctor (which he went when he needed to go, but not every time he farted).
Anyway... I saw this gorgeous dog on PetFinder.com one night... called my hubby and said, "Look at him! He's perfect!" I went early the next day to the humane society that had him, but they had already called a rescue to come and get him. THe lady must've seen the tears in my eyes, caue she called the woman on her cell phone, told her of my tale of woe, and gave her the choice whether she still wanted to come and get him, or let me have him.
She said she wanted him to have a good home with a good family.
Riley came home with me that day.
Vet said he was about 2 years old, healthy as a horse, and weighed about 114 pounds.
Now, Buffalo Butt, as we like to refer to him as, is a big ol 180 pounds of old man stinky lovins, and who is spoiled rotten.
He's been the best $10 dollar dog ever, protected our family fiercly, and given us more happiness than any family should be allowed.
He's the very best and we adore the ol fart.
We're glad you're ours RiRi.

These 2 boys are Chimi (short for Chimichanga) and Connor. Chimi was another rescue. He was found in Mansfield, Ohio in a very bad part of town. The shelter had to keep him 3 weeks just in case his owner showed up. Of course whoever it was, didn't, and he came home with me. He has always been very skittish, especially around my husband, but has come along way. A L-O-N-G way..... He's still very vocal, but aren't most Chihuahuas?
Connor was gotten from a friend of ours when he was just a pup. He used to look like a guinea pig when he would lay down on the ground.... Lol! He's a Shih Tzu. A vary ratty and unkempt Shih Tzu... Haha! My hubby calls him his hobo dog. Lol!
This is probably the oldest cat in the world. Seriously! He's been with us ....oh... about 20 years or so. Found this old guy in an abandoned car door. He fought like a Tiger when hubby pulled him out. Hence the name... Tiger. He has almost put one daughters eye out, another daughter ended up in the hospital over a bite that became infected.... this is one hateful cat. But he's ours, and I guess we'll keep him till he leaves too. Will I get another cat after he's gone? He** NO!
He is awful pretty though, isn't he? :)

I'll do another post soon about some other animals we have. You'd think we live in a zoo, but I assure you, we do not. Haha!

Spring has sprung!!!!

WOOHOO!!!!
I do so love Springtime with the earth waking up and coming back to life after such a long sleep..... the Lord truly does bless us with the beauty herein.....
Tiny treasures such as the little crocus flowers... brings beauty and color to the still brown grass...
Or how about the sunshine yellow of the gorgeous daffodil?  Like little rays of sunlight streaming across yards or dotting the side of the road, offering workers a touch of bright in their otherwise drab travels back and forth to work.

Remember to thank the Lord for His glorious beauty and the blessings He showers us with every day...

WE did it!!!

And.... she's running again!
We were successful with the new battery and letting it charge overnight! Came home for lunch today, put the new, fully charged battery in, and... voila!  Lady Cobra is alive again!  :)

We hit the roads with a vengeance this afternoon.... had a great time!  :)   Life is good, but life with a motorcycle is even better!  :)

Me? A Mechanic?

I guess so.. kinda, in a way...I am trying to figure out why my bike is having temper tantrums and won't start. So it was later on in the afternoon before I got around to getting anything done.
Hit one store... my hubby "looks" at battery boxes and says... "None of these are gonna fit." I ask why, and he says... "The boxes are too big." Then and there, I realize I'm on my own.

Go to an auto parts store where the young man looks it up and says he has the battery for my bike... at a whopping $99.99!!!  Holy crap! Do I want my bike to run more than I care about $100? Hell yea! So I bought it. Brought it home, and the dang thing is too tall! *sigh*

Took it back to the store where I paid with a check. Now they cannot refund my money BECAUSE I paid with a check, but they can give me store credit. I don't want store credit, I want my money... so low and behold, I have to wait until the check clears the bank and THEN go in and ask for my money to be refunded. *Sigh*

So I head back to the first store, old battery in hand, and sit on the floor and try battery after battery checking sizes and everything else... you know, DH is with me of course, telling me the boxes are too tall or too big, and nothing there will fit.... until I find one.

BACK to the house and ready new battery to be plugged into charger, and am STILL waiting.

What have I learned today? That I can work on vehicles (a little) and will continue to learn, and that my husband irritates the hell out of me when I am on a mission.....

I MAY allow him to live until tomorrow. ... Maybe.

Saturday

Ahhh......finally, a lovely Saturday to enjoy.
We wanted to take off on the bikes again, but for some reason, mine is acting up. It didn't start. This is the second time it's done it, so I'm not quite sure what to think. I hate the thought of taking it to the shop, since it'll sit in the garage for a month before they get it in to actually "look" at it. :(
Unfortunately, we don't have the "speediest" of places.....
Our son came over and rode his bike. This being his first riding season and all, he was terribly excited, and I just rode with hubby.
We had a great time, and traveled about 100 miles. But alas..... I left my camera in my bag...... still attached to MY bike that was in the garage.  *sorry*

The kids are coming over to eat dinner tomorrow, so hopefully, hubby and son can figure out whatever is going on with my bike and fix it. I really dislike not having my motorcycle..... it makes me sad.

Hmmm....

I see I had to delete a post due to being the victim of a hacker. Sorry folks. Didn't know anything about the weird blog post until just now. I knew my Facebook account had been hacked, but I didn't know my blog had too.
Hope no one fell for the stupid "I tried this whatever it was and IT WORKED!" bullcrap whoever was trying to spread about using my name.....

So not cool. If whatever it is that you are trying to get people to buy is so fantastic, why do you have to use other peoples accounts to say fake things?

Another Journey

Another day to take off and enjoy the sunshine! We left this early this after noon after DH got off work and headed out to parts unknown....
First stop was at a lovely state park we like to frequent...
Springtime is on it's way!!!

My hero making sure the tunnel is clear..... you just never know what may be lurking just around the corner!

Just a pretty scenic view....

Then after we left here,  we stopped at a covered bridge that we had passed numerous times, but never stopped to investigate. It was neat!!!

Such a lovely day!!!

Hubby and I decided to take off and go on a ride. My bike did just fine all the way to the Indiana/ Kentucky border, where we followed the border for about 100 miles, just looking at the Ohio River that was so swollen, that it swallowed whatever was in its path......We had no idea of the devastation and destruction that was left after the recent rains we'd had.

I wish we could have stopped more often to get pictures.

I've never seen water that came to the tops of picnic shelters, nor have I seen house rafters pushed together on a tree. Tree limbs and debris was in peoples yards, and water was still so high, that it was frightening.

Only pictures I got that day was when we stopped to get Corn Nuts and something to drink.

All girls need to accessorize....

And here she is.... sunshine on chrome, with a new windshield, new engine guard and foot pegs, and a new sissy bar and luggage rack to boot.... She looks pretty sexy, if I do say so myself!  :)

Or am I just being biased in my opinion?
