Happy Memorial Day!

Thank you to all of our servicemen and women who have worked so hard to keep us free. Each of you are a blessing on my soul, and I thank the Lord above for your contributions to this great country.

What we've been up to....

We got to go home for a few days. Not long enough, yet way too long. .. does that make sense? We love being able to go to the mountains of Kentucky, but we live here, in Indiana.  Seeing family was a blessing, especially our cousins... it's almost as if we're Aunt and Uncle to them, cause we're so much older, but nope... cousins! LOL!

Aunt Sandy had surgery and we wanted to do what we could to help out. Seems as though all we did was get in the way. Cousin Jon did all the cooking and cleaning... what else was there?

We found an old family cemetery plot up the mountain and around the bend that was pretty interesting.  Jon and I took pictures of a bunch of flowers and stuff that really no one else is interested in, cept  us.....

Here's a daisy..... look at all God's glory in a tiny flower.... I love daisies. They're my favorite.

We always enjoy time with family...... What a blessing we have in each other!

Metamora

After quite a l-o-n-g time away for personal family reasons... hubby decided I needed to get my mind off certain things, so we planned today as a getaway trip. We took the bikes down to Whitewater Canal...
The scenery on the way there was as breathtaking as when we arrived.

Hard to concentrate at times....

Here I am standing at the canal. hubby took the pic.

Then we went on in to Metamora. This little town has been a place for tourists forever!! It's a quaint little town, and we had a nice walk through, Lots of little "old fashioned" looking stores, and places. Way too many had "For Sale" signs in the windows..... yet something else being forced out by this economy slam we're in? Probably.
Before we explored too far, Den took me into a little candy store/ ice cream parlor and bought me an ice cream cone... what better date could a girl ask for? Motorcycles and an ice cream cone! :)

Here's a shot of the middle of town! Lovely.

And the Mill.....

This tree was amazing. It was HUGE and had a limb growing parallel to the ground! LOL! So, typical to fashion, I had to go examine it a bit more! Haha!

Then, off we went to another state park. We aren't big on going far distances... just going.

Aren't these pretty?

And of course... this post of a wonderful day wouldn't be complete with out a pic of the reason my day was so wonderful!!! My best friend...

And of course..... our bikes..... (mine's the pretty one. LOL!)

Thanks for a great day!
