Spring Rain

Dang! Had the weekend off, actually 4 whole days of..... and guess what? It's supposed to rain the next 4 days....

WHAT THE HECK?

Well, we went for a couple of short spins this evening anyway. Got caught in the rain both times. LOL! Hubby says I drive ok in the rain, so that makes me feel better.

Took 15 y/o daughter with us on Dad's bike, and she loved it! Didn't want to come home, even though it was raining.... (that's my gal!) Haha!

Financing went through and here she is.... my baby... my bike......

Here she is, still in the shop. Less than a mile on her till we got her home.

Then, we just HAD to go for a ride..... right?

But hubby wanted me to practice a bit first.

So I did, and this bike is so incredibly easy to handle.... it's amazing!

After not "driving" a bike by myself for over 20 years, I was a bit scared, but my Mr said he had faith in me.... guess I did too after a minute or so! It all came back!

Then, we hit the road... and did 80 miles... just cruising the country roads, letting me practice more and more, until I felt comfortable with everything.

Here she is in all her glory when we pulled in for the night.

Alone, and paired with hubbys Magna.

There was one small incident, and I grabbed the front brake in a turn.

Never, ever, ever do that!

I just skinned my elbow and hurt my pride..... but it could have been much worse.

But all in all..... life is good, and having my own ride, even better!!!!!

Just a day trip....

We headed out early today cause we wanted to get there before it go too crowded. We weren't successful. Haha!

Went to Traders World near Hamilton, Ohio. It's a great combination of flea markets and vendors..... Dennis and I love it! And, of course, our favorite leather shop is there.

Didn't take many pics on the way, I just enjoyed the ride and my wonderful husband's company. Nice to have a few minutes alone with him. He's the very best part of me...... <3 <3 <3 (Can't tell I'm still in love after so many years, eh?)

But on the way back, we stopped a couple of times and I got some pretty shots.....

This picture of the steeple against the sky is simply lovely.... and yes, the sky really was that blue!

When we stopped to get gas and stretch our legs a bit, the scenery was just beautiful for a spring day... perfect for a ride with the one I love.... Just look a the colors! So vibrant!

Check out the Indiana countryside as we got closer to home.... mostly corn fields and cows.... LOL! I had a friend stare out the car window one day when he came to vist from Nevada.... "It's so flat..." LOL! He was amazed at all the corn fields and how lat our land is here. Of course, with him being from Nevada, I can see why!

But we love it here. We'd move to Kentucky in a heart beat if we could get our only parent we have left to come too, but she's settled and won't go, so here we'll stay until the Lord tells us to go elsewhere.

                   

We had such a good time just being together, that we tried to record pics of us... LOL! Something was always getting "cut off" or whatever...  but we had fun!

Great times with my best friend today.... hope your day was just as perfect!

Rain!!!

We went out yesterday for a bit... got caught in the rain, but all in all was a good day. Saw a few pretty things, and a few interesting things, but nothing much. 

Had to get new handle-grips on the bike, so we stopped in at the local Honda shop and had that done...

and I found my baby. The dream.

Work

Why does work have to interfere with life so much? *sigh*

 Maybe we'll go for a short scoot this evening after I get out.... Lord, I hope so. 

It's supposed to be nice weather, and of course, I DON'T have to work tomorrow, and what's it supposed to do? Rain. *Bleh*

Us

Here we are, my hubby and I, setting out on a new adventure in our lives. We have the bike we've wanted for years, but always had another obligation, or school, or work, or something else standing in the way.  :)

Now, we have a 15 year old and a 17 year old left at home, and a little bit of freedom at our doorstep!

Our daughters are the best,

 but we are looking forward to having time for us too....

We both love to ride, and go almost daily... whether a short ride (usually when I work a 12 hour shift) or a long ride, like we did today.  :)

We love to stop and look at nature.... that, and our old back ends get sore... Haha!

 And me? I'm a picture taking freak, so expect alot of that too....
