First Ride of the Season!!!

Yahoo! We finally got the bike out and rode the better part of today! I didn't get my laundry done, or my floors mopped or my kitchen scrubbed...
What I did get is time with my husband, doing something we both enjoy, that didn't cost an arm and a leg...

I think we all need "days off" sometimes to just relax and enjoy life, don't you? The housework is always going to be there tomorrow, and the memory of the fun that was had together will last a lifetime...

Go out and enjoy today, for tomorrow is not promised...

Growing Little Chicks

The sad news is that Bonnie passed away. We don't know why or what happened. One minute she was fine, the next, our Abi came upstairs and told Dad she "thought one of the chickens was dead..." So DH went and saw that she was, indeed, gone.
When we went to the store to replace her, we ended up buying two, so now we can't have a Bonnie and Clyde (although I think Clyde will still be and always be a Clyde~ if you know what I mean...) but now we need new names. Already they are growing and eating.... and perching. We took them outside for awhile today to let them roam a bit....
I never realized what a natural beauty that my daughter has until I saw this picture. I guess I have... but it really struck me today for some reason.

Anyway....  I started my online classes today. Just orientation, but exciting, nonetheless.... it took the better part of the day, but I think I have the online stuff mastered! LOL!

DH and I are going to go pick up our motorcycle tomorrow and go riding for a bit. Wind in our hair... sun in our faces... and my arms wrapped around my best friend... who could ask for more?  :)

Well, I had better get off for now. I just wanted to update on the chicks.

Hope you all had a blessed St Patty's Day!

Blessings!

Sunday March 14, 2010

Once again, I have strayed from my blog for much too long. Once again, much has happened in our small family...

Hubby has been released from the doctors care for his hand, however, we are still battling the insurance for payment. They keep saying we have another primary insurance, which we have no other insurance, period! And for my abcessed tooth, again... they aren't paying. I just don't understand why. So back to the phone tomorrow....

I have went back to working in a long term care facility. I had to get out of the place I was working in. I didn't mind the work, per say, but I did not care for the way the patients were treated. I felt in danger for my safety and my license. I am a professional and the way that particular place was run, compromised my beliefs as a nurse and a human being.

The children are doing well... the girls are maturing more and more daily... we still have our rough spots, but things are getting better. They went to church with a friend of theirs today, which I loved. I wanted to go, but one of the boys came yesterday to visit with his family, and we didn't make it. He brought our little granddaughter for a visit. The one that was born early in November and weighed a bit over 3 pounds? Well now she weighs in at 8 pounds and some odd ounces, and is a little bundle of joy!

LOL! That's my Rose.....

Well, and with the beautiful spring weather coming upon us, DH and our son got my bird feeders down, so I could get them  cleaned up and ready for my birdies today. Then DH took me out and let me buy a big bag of feed and a new feeder! Yea! So now, outside my bay window in the kitchen, I have 3 feeders.  A finch feeder in the middle....

DH also put a feeder outside in the front yard. Between my lilacs bushes. That one has already been attacked today! LOL! The sparrows and a robin or two have scattered seeds all over the ground and  in the tray!  I love it!

But I digress... DH also bought me 2 Barred Rock Pullets today. I already have a coop, and DH is going to build me a chicken tractor for my girls!

We've decided to name them Bonnie and Clyde. Our little bandits.... LOL! Our dd named them, so I won't complain.

On the left is Bonnie, and the right, Clyde. Clyde is a bit older it seems, and a bit more aggressive... LOL!

All we want is enough eggs to keep our family in a few... nothing to sell, no profit of any sort, just for us.

Now if we can just keep the nosy neighbor on his side of the fence!

Anyway, as you can see, Hatfield House is running as always, sometimes smooth, sometimes not.... but always running.... We are happy, and love each other, and try to make the best of every day with Gods infinite love for us built in!

Hope your family is doing as well, as that you all continue to grow as the oncoming season of birth is upon us!

~Blessings from our house to yours~
